Kasen and Brielle= BFF!

I am seriously so lucky that Kasen and Brielle are so close in age and so close in friendship as well. They definitely have a love hate relationship but they are together so often it's almost like they are siblings. Also, they are 3. What do you expect? They have done so much stuff together and whenever I tell Kasen we are going somewhere or going to do something the first thing he asks is WHERE, and the second thing he asks is "Is Brielle going to be there?" He loves his little cousin so much. I love seeing them play together. They feed off each others energy and giggles. It drives me nuts when they scream and fight, but I would NEVER keep them away from each other just because of that. It's not worth it. Their friendship is too important to the both of them. Even at the age of 3 I think they realize how lucky they are to have each other. I love you Brielle! Thank's for being my sons BEST FRIEND FOREVER!

I know thats a whole lotta pics, but I just wanted to pay tribute to Kasen and his best friend!

Kasen's First Dentist Appt.

This one's for you Papa.
Kasen had his first dentist appt. today and it went really well. I am so proud of him. I gave him a little heads up about what was going to happen and warned him about all the tools they were going to use. He likes the squirt gun....(the water rinser thingy ma bobber) He sat perfectly still, didn't whine when they didn't have orange teeth cleaner and instead just picked bubble gum. He was THRILLED with his pirates of the carribean toothbrush he got to pick out and picked a glittery sticker that said "angel"...I'm not so sure that's always a fitting title, but for the dentist appt? ABSOLUTELY. The hygenist said he was better than some of her 10 year old patients. That made him smile proudly.

A little bit of a nervous smile.
Checking for cavities.
The actual cleaning.
Good job my sweet boy! Good job!

Palm Springs

Over Memorial weekend we were able to get away for a few shorts days and stay in my parents timeshare. It was really nice and we had a lot of fun. We hung out by the pool, went to CEC (chuck e cheese), boomers, and walked around the huge hotel. It was a little too short, but it was still just nice to get away.

As soon as we got into our room, Kasen saw the HUGE jacuzzi bath tub and started stripping telling us how he wanted to take a bath a 4pm. It was hilarious. He giggled with glee when we turned on the "bubbles"
I love Palm Springs. All the palm trees and the nice weather, the golf courses. Beautiful.
Kasen feeding the ducks some wheat thins outside our room. The gate divides the hotel rooms from the golf course that is on the premises.
We walked over to the big hotel next to the timeshare (they are owned by the same people) since my parents are timeshare owners we get to use all the facilities at the hotel as well.

After the weekend, on Monday, our family all got together and went to the Detroit vs. Anaheim baseball game. The game was actually incredibly boring, they didn't score a run until the 12th inning! When someone DID score, it was the wrong team, but at the point I was just happy to get the game over with. Kasen was having a hard time hanging on towards the end. We stayed the whole game because they had fireworks afterwards and Kasen loves the fireworks. We had fun, and it was just really good to spend time with family. I wish you could have come Jeanine (understand why you didn't though).
Crystal and I.
Kasen and I watching the fireworks.

Temple Work-er

Last month I was set apart as a temple worker. I was given the choice of what week in the month, what day and what shift I wanted to work. I chose the 4th Wed of every month. My shift is from 5-10pm. Since I have a small child at home, they suggest ONLY working one shift a month as to not take away from your family time. I was ok with that when I was set apart, but since I started my shift last night, I don't know if once a month is enough.

I absolutely loved it. It's amazing. I feel like I really know the temple better than I ever have before. What elevators lead to where, what staircase you use to get to a certain place. I even ate in the cafeteria for dinner on my break, for the first time ever. Pretty decent food.

The spirit was AMAZING and I am so excited about going back again in July (the temple is closed the last week in June for cleaning). I am sad that I wont be back until July though, but anxiously looking forward to it.

I know it sounds lame, but I already feel the blessings from only going last night. I cannot wait to receive more blessings from this wonderful opportunity. I feel very honored to be able to work there. Each shift is ended with a session and it was wonderful.

Yaay for the temple! :)

Mothers Day

I finally got my special ordered Mother's Day present. I actually got it last week, but am just now getting around to blogging it. I even took the pictures of it last week. Oh well.

It's not the best picture, you can see my reflection in the glass, but you get the idea.

Jeremy special ordered the phrase on it because that's what Kasen tells us when we tell him we love him. He responds "I love you to the moon and back" and obviously that's very special to us.

So here it is:

I love it!!!

Soccer Update

Kasen had his second soccer game on Saturday. My oh my was it SO much better! SO much better. He listened to his coach, didn't freak out when peope used his ball, no real tantrums, he giggled had fun and even kicked and dribbled the ball. I cannot tell you HOW MUCH better he did this week. We talked about it A LOT during the week trying to prepare him for what was going to come. It's ok if people use your ball, don't come whine to us, it's ok if you get sweaty (that was a huge issue to him) thats what happens when the sun is out, when we are done we will go get in the car and turn the AC on. I actually have hope for the next few weeks of soccer. I was very pleased. Jeremy wasn't there because he signed up to help someone in the ward move, so I am not sure if that had anything to do with his behavior, I am hoping no. But he did well!

UNTIL:

After this, he was pretty hit or miss, running to me and whining, then he would go play for a minute, then come back and whine some more, then go play again. Luckily it was just the last 15 minutes that he did this when the game was going on. He was great for the whole practice. I am still so proud of my little boy for toughing it out!

Conversation Between 3 year olds

Kasen and Brielle followed each other into the bathroom to go potty...the rest went as follows:

Brielle: Kasen, what kind of panties do you have?

Kasen: Huh?

Brielle: What kind of panties do you have?

Kasen: I don't have my pennies, they're in my Mickey piggy bank.

Oh the conversations between a couple 3 year olds.....lol

Gandolfo's Deli

I would just like to let everyone know that I am pretty ecstatic that Gandolfos Deli is FINALLY open in Oceanside. Jeremy and I have been awaiting this for like 8 months now with talks of the place opening and then nothing happening. Well yesterday when I went to ward council Jeremy and Kasen were driving around and Jeremy being the "urban cowboy" fan that he is wasn't willing to give up hope.... Lo and behold.... YESTERDAY was it's opening day. Can you believe that? Jeremy was so stoked. After already having dinner with the missionaries and pounding about 6 pieces of pizza and two big pieces of garlic bread he couldn't resist he was SO happy, that he got his famous urban cowboy. I had to roll him out of the car when we got home.

So welcome me in welcoming GANDOLFO'S DELI to North County! WOO HOO!!!!

We will be there for dinner tomorrow night should any Gandolfo fans care to join us!

Soccer

Kasen started soccer on Saturday. I'm not really sure what to say about it. Disaster? Nightmare? Never again? He is on a team with about 8 other 3 and 4 year olds. Some are good, some have no clue (kasen), and some have never played but at least picked up on it. I know that age 3 is young to start soccer, not much of an attention span and a little rowdiness, but I expected that going into it on Saturday. What I did expect was all the break downs, tantrums and ball stealing that would go on.

Kasen had a really hard time with the idea that other people were going to use his ball. (symptom of being an only child)...he would go and steal his ball away from the poor little kid who was just doing as he was told...but NOT before he would yell at them to give his ball back. It was really embarassing. All these soccer moms were just staring like "what a brat!"

Kasen wore shin guards but STILL cried and ran over to us EVERY SINGLE TIME he got kicked or fell or anything happened. It drove me crazy. (another symptom of being an only child)

He threw tantrum after tantrum when he would go to kick the ball and whiff, or when his competitive father would tell him to go back out and play.

All in all it was pretty awful and embarassing. Fortunately my kid wasn't the ONLY one behaving like this, but I can't expect the best when he has never done anything like this before.

All I am expecting is maybe a little bit of improvement from last week? Jeremy has been practicing with him since, he will go to bed early on Friday night and get well fed for breakfast. Hopefully those will make a little difference in his attitude and whinyness. (and sissyness) :)
Heres hopin' for a better soccer game this week!

Mommys Day at School

On Thursday Kasen's class invited all their mommies to come to school with them for the last hour. The whole day was a surprise for us, all we knew was that we were getting lunch.

When we got there, the kids were all lined up on the wall ready to take us to our seats for lunch. They sat us down and poured our lemonade for- us out of a pitcher!! Went and filled our plates for us and waited patiently for us to eat. THEN they got to paint our toe nails and finger nails. Kasen was so excited and PROUD about this one. He was going to paint his mommys nails. He went and chose a color and came back with a color like this...

I kindly turned down the dark burgundy (knowing it would stain my fingers) and asked him to pick another color. He then came back with this....

Ok, so do I turn him down AGAIN? I asked him nicely to get a light pink so he did. He didn't even care that I declined his first two options. He was just happy to be doing it at all.

Afterwards, they kids rubbed lotion on their moms arms. I was lucky enough to have about half a bottle poured on my arm by Luc. (it was grapefruit) It was pretty funny. He rubbed it in and left my arms with a thick white coating. Kasen then came to me with peppermint and I couldn't turn him down since it was his job to do it, so I stunk the rest of the day like graperfruit and peppermint. Not the best combo.

The kids presented us with cards and CUTE CUTE buckets with a plant. They planted the plant and put painted handprints on the sides of the bucket. It was way cute.
The best part? The card! Kasen's teacher filled out a sheet with facts ABOUT MOM. She asked the questions and Kasen answered. He tried, but couldn't have been anymore wrong on just about ALL of them lol.
It was such a cute effort. I appreciate all that he did and I am glad that he finally is starting to appreciate all that I do as well. He is a sweet little boy and I am honored to be his mommy!

How nice

On Tuesday night, a couple friends and I were able to go to Massage Envy and then to dinner afterwards. It was so relaxing ans so NICE to be out of the house and having someone focus on US. Instead of US focusing on our kids. I was able to get my shoulders and my neck massaged and it helped quite a bit with the pain for a couple days. I think I should get a massage once a week. Jeremy disagrees! :( Clearly he has never had one, huh? Fathers day present? lol

After our massages. Don't we all look drugged? We were SO relaxed.

Mothers Day Dinner

Crystal and her mom and my mom and I all went out to dinner on Thursday night to Johnny Carrinos. That place is pretty tasty and I love the all you can eat salad with your meal. I eat salad and fill myself up and then take my dinner home for lunch the nexy day. Perfect!

We had a lot of fun. I love hanging out with my mom, she cracks me up. Crystal and her mom ARE a lot alike whether they want to admit it or not. So I knew I would have fun with both of them as well, and we did!
People say we look alike? I don't see it.
They TOTALLY look alike! I CAN see that. The 4 of us! Aww...
At Target afterwards being ghetto. It was fun.
Wanna do it again next month Crystal? The 4 of us?
