Peter Pan

For anyone who doesn't know. Kasen is obsessed with Peter Pan. Has been for a while. I think it's a little more kiddish than Mickey Mouse so I am ok with it. He likes to watch the movie (which I found out today he scratched and now it doesn't work! I am SOOO upset!) He loves Return to Neverland (which eventually we will have to purchase) and he LOVES to pretend he is Peter Pan and then assigns the rest of us characters. I usually get to be Wendy or Capt. Hook when Jeremy isn't around lol. The city of Vista has a big outdoor ampitheatre called Moonlight Ampitheatre. ( I will be going on August to see Les Miserables, anyone wanna go?) I have gone there my whole life to watch plays and musicals. When I found out that Peter Pan was going to be there I KNEW I had to take Kasen. He sat in the orchestra level, in the 4th row. It was awesome. We made the mistake of getting there about 30 minutes early since our tickets were at will call and we didn't know how long it would take to get them (about 7 minutes) and we went and took our seats. The show started at 8pm. Not sure why it was so late when it was Peter Pan, clearly a show lots of little kids were going to see, but Kasen kept asking me about every 2 minutes what time my watch said. "what time is it mom? Is it going to start yet? When will it start? Where's Peter Pan? Are those Indians? Mom! Mom! Mom! What time is it? " SOOO ANNOYING! But I couldn't get mad, I just knew how excited he was to see Peter Pan in real life! When Jeremy got up to go to the bathroom one last time before the play started, he came back with a little surprise for Kasen. They were selling the felt Peter Pan hats for $3 and Kasen was so stoked and STILL is. He wears it and carries it all day long. He wanted to wear it to church on Sunday even. He loved the play, sat through the WHOLE thing and didn't even ask questions. He knew the storyline, he knew who everyone was, he just sat there mesmerized and watched. He didn't even fall asleep. The play got over at like 10:15. What a good boy! It was worth the time and money just to see him so happy!

Mommy Night Out!

Friday night we had a mommy night out with our playgroup. It was so much fun. We went to Sammys Woodfired Pizza in San Marcos and some seriously tasty food. Probably too much food. It took about 45 minutes to get our food. It took about 20 minutes to get our desserts because the sundaes we ordered come in a special glass and they were all dirty so they had to wash some in order to make them for us. We got the desserts for free. Our friend Kimberly was there as well but she left before any of us remembered to get a picture. I have been hanging out with a lot with some of these girls and I am really getting to know them and enjoy their company. Hope we can all go out again soon!!

Kasen LOVES to go to the car wash with Grandpa. Usually they go take my moms car because Kasen actually fits in the back of her car. This time? My dad AND Kasen both wanted to take his car in for the car wash. I said ok. My dad put the top down, he slid the front passenger seat ALL the way up, threw Kasen's carseat in the half back seat he has, and away they went. It was so cute. Kasen sat really high since the back seat was barely even something worth calling a back seat and he thought he was such a big boy being in grandpas car. I made them wait while I ran inside to get my camera. I just thought it was so cute. He loves spending time with grandpa since he is usually gone all day and then goes to bed like an hour or so after he get's home.

Disney Toy Story Mania

Last Tuesday I realized it was the last day I could use my annual pass until like the end of August so I decided to surprise Kasen after school and take him to Disneyland. I didn't tell him where we were going, I just made him go to sleep on the way there, but as soon as we got on the freeway, the first thing he said was, "this is the way to disneyland! Are we going to Disneyland mommy?" I lied and said no for a couple reasons. 1. I really wanted it to be a surprise and 2. I knew that if I told him that's where we were going he would NEVER fall asleep and he needed a nap having been at the beach with no nap all day the day before.

Kasen woke up when we got off the freeway. It took him a second to look around and finally realize where we were. He said...that's the way to Disneyland mom. I said "yep! do you want to go?" This was his response!! Notice the sleepy hair?

When we got there, we went straight for the new Toy Story Mania ride knowing that since it opened that day, the line would be way long. It was. 2 hours. We decided to wait anyway. It was 95 degrees out and we were waiting in line with no shade. Kasen started getting cranky and whiny and I got worried since he is heat sensitive that he was going to get sick, so we asked the people in line in front of us if they would hold our spots while we went to go get some water bottles. They kindly agreed. While we were waiting in line some more, they announced that the ride was done and they didnt know when or IF it was going to come back up. We decided to wait having been in line over an hour already. At this point Kasen was freaking out and telling me he wanted to go home, he didn't want to go on the ride, he didn't feel well. The people behind us heard him and told us that if we wanted to go on a couple rides and check back to see where they were in line, they were fine with that and would hold our spots. HOW NICE! So we did, and Kasen chose the carousel to go on first. He was SO happy to be out of line. We even went to get some lunch and he ate a WHOLE hot dog (no bun), bag of chips and drank a whole bottle of water.
Waiting in line some more for the ride. At this point we had been in line 2.5 hours and they said that the ride was back up so we stayed in line with our new found gay friends behind us.
You get to wear some pretty sweet 3D glasses for the ride. Kasen wore then through the rest of the line.
These were our final scores. I was the highest out of our group of 6, but the high score for the day was like 389,000. Oops! Just when I was about to be proud of my score. The ride was really cool and it was fun for both the kids and adults. I don't think I would wait in line 3.5 hours for it again, but it was still really cool. I only really techinically waited in line for about 3 hours.

On a bugs life ride.
Chip and Dale's treehouse. He made a friend and the two of them went through the treehouse about 6 times. I was fine with that, gave me a few mintues to sit in the shade and rest my feet.
Goin for a ride in Mickey's car.
Hangin out in Mickey's family room.
I didnt bring a stroller OR rent a stroller. Kasen walked EVERYWHERE we went. We were at Disneyland from about 1:30-9:30 at night. By the time we got off the last ride and started our walk back to the front of the park Kasen was complaining he was tired, his feet hurt, his legs hurt, want wanted to sit down. It was pretty bad. We sat down about 5 times on the way back to the tram. Once we got to the car, Kasen ate his popcorn (a little tradition we have, we get popcorn on our way out of the park to eat on the car ride home) and was out within minutes of being on the freeway. He is just like his mommy. He can't have his feet just sitting on the ground. He always has to have one bent, or up, or sitting on it. He was PASSED out!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!

Today was Father's Day and a good one at that. We woke up for church this morning and Kasen surprised his daddy with a homemade tie. It was a project they made this week at school especially for Father's Day. Kasen was so proud of it and asked his daddy to wear it to church today. Jeremy was a little hesitant at first, thinking he might look funny or that people might stare. I reassured him that other dads would be wearing the same tie today since there were quite a few kids in Kasen's class that are in our ward. Boy was I wrong! Jeremy turned out being the ONLY one wearing his tie, but.....he got about 25 compliments on it from random people throughout the church building. That made him proud. It was super cute.

After church Zac and his family came over and we all sat around and had watched golf. For like 4 hours. Blah. Then as soon as that was over, they opened their presents and turned on the Laker game. Blah. 3 more hours of sports. How ridiculous. I just don't understand that. Oh well. They had fun.
Jeremy is such a great dad. Not that I expected him to be awful, but he has more than exceeded my expectations as a father. He is so patient with Kasen (most of the time), he will watch him whenever I ask him to, he knows how to put him to bed, knows what to say to console him, knows how to bribe and threaten to get what he wants, knows how to love Kasen the way he needs to be loved, knows what to feed Kasen and how to fix it for him too, he can give him a bath, brush his teeth and say prayers with him. He plays with Kasen, wrestles with him, cuddles him, takes care of him when is throwing up (throw up kinda freaks me out), he takes him to the park, takes him to Chuck E Cheese all by himself, reads him bedtime stories, and he even helps him wipe his bum! I can't express to you how happy I am to have Jeremy as the father of my child(ren). Jeremy, I am so grateful for all you do for Kasen. Thank you! He loves you so much!

Kasen and Brielle Photoshoot

So I bribed Kasen and Brielle today. I told them that if they let me take some GOOD pictures with them smiling together, I would give them each a little dum dum lollipop. IT actually worked! I couldn't believe it. Usually when I bribe them with something, one or the other wants it and it doesn't work for the other. But this time, they BOTH wanted it. I picked the correct bribing item.
Here are a few of the pictures that I took:

An Apple a Day Keeps the Dr Away

Kasen LOVES apples. He will usually eat a whole one if you cut it up, but if he eats it whole, he usually only takes a couple bites and then doesn't want to work at it anymore. Today however was a different story. With a few helpful bites from Grandpa, he ate just about the whole thing!

Kasen fell and hurt his foot while we were outside and started crying. He then proceeded to run inside and grabbed an apple proclaiming that it would make his foot feel better.

We all had a good laugh about that.

The picture of the lone apple is ONE SINGLE bite from my dad. Honestly, that is EXACTLY why we never wanted my dad to take bites of our food. We would always cringe anytime my dad asked for a bite fully knowing that a bite to him was half of the item we were eating. We finally learned to put our finger about a half inch away from where he was going to take a bite so that he couldn't take too big of a bite without biting our finger. It kept his bites to a smaller portion.

Swim Date

Last week we had a playdate at my friend Hiedi's house. She was nice enough to open up her home to us and a bunch of little kiddos. We had a little potluck and had so lunch and just hung out and went swimming.

Kasen FREEZING after he got out of the pool!
He seriously couldn't stop shaking, it was funny.

Sorry in advance....

I feel like I haven't blogged in forever, and really I haven't. I do have some good excuses though. I was sick with a fever and sinus infection for about 10 days and then I broke my glasses, the frame just snapped right in half so I don't spend much time on the internet without my glasses. It makes me sick and nauseous.

So sorry in advance for all the blogs I am about to post!

Calling all Utah Scrapbookers...

I will be in town at the end of this month. June. I will be going scrapbooking with my sister in law Nichole on Friday June 27th at My Scrapbook Zone in American Fork. I will only be in Utah for a few days and would love to spend some time with my family and see my friends as well. So in order to get both of those done, I am inviting all of you who would want to, to come scrap with me! I'm really excited and can't wait to see all of you. Thanks Nichole for helping me set all this up. Nyree- this includes you!!

Let me know if you are able to make it, the sooner the better, so we can reserve a spot for you.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to comment, email or call me. Hope you can all make it!

How cool is my big brother?

Zac and my dad are DIE HARD Red Wings fans. They watch every game with their jerseys on. They recently took a trip to Detroit to watch the Red Wings play in the final series. My dad is now in Hawaii but Zac was able to make it to the last game in Pitt. After winning the Stanley Cup 2008! WOO HOO!! Zac came home to find himself posted all over the Detroit newspapers. Go Zac!

What a cool picture! How fun for him. I am sure it was great to rub in all his screaming and yelling when the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup. What really cracks me up about the picture, not only is Zac the only RED among the sea of white and black, but that chick next to him is cranking her head back to almost a 60 degree angle to see Zacs head. SO funny. Way to go Zac!

GO RED WINGS!!

2008 Stanley Cup Champions!

Thought I Would add my cute little boy in his Red Wings shirt grandpa got for him when he went to Detroit last week.

Clearly not a good picture of either of the kids, but they were being cute and silly. So it's ok.
